Join Our Mission

We are always looking for passionate parents to help us make STMA Middle School West a better place for everyone. Whether you want to help with a specific event or just want to support our school spirit, there's a place for you. Attending our meetings are encouraged, but not required to help with our PTO. We can always use help with shopping, fundraiser volunteering,  and organizing.

Most PTO volunteer opportunities require a district-approved background check to be on file before participating. For more information about the background check process and how to complete one, please visit the STMA Volunteer Background Check page.

Committees

Join our dedicated teams to help make STMA Middle School West a better place for everyone.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides leadership and oversight for the MSW PTO. Made up of the President, Treasurer, and Secretary, the Board serves as the organization’s official voting body and helps guide priorities, approve expenditures, and keep PTO initiatives aligned with the needs of students, staff, and families.

President

The President leads the PTO’s overall direction and helps turn ideas into action. This role facilitates meetings, coordinates with school administration, supports committees and volunteers, and keeps projects and initiatives moving throughout the year.

Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the PTO’s finances and helps ensure funds are managed responsibly and transparently. This includes tracking income and expenses, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing payments and reimbursements, and helping develop the PTO budget.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps the PTO organized and maintains its official records. This role documents meetings and Board decisions, helps manage agendas and important documents, and supports communication so information remains clear and accessible.

General PTO Members

General PTO Members are the parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and community members who help bring the work of the MSW PTO to life. Members are encouraged to attend meetings, share ideas, volunteer at events, assist with fundraising, serve on committees, and help support programs that benefit Middle School West students and staff.

General members play an important role in shaping PTO priorities by providing feedback, identifying needs, and helping carry out projects and activities throughout the school year. While the Board of Directors serves as the official voting body, the PTO depends on the involvement, ideas, and participation of its general membership to be successful.

There is no single level of involvement required — members can participate as much or as little as their schedules allow. Whether someone attends meetings regularly, helps with one event, supports a fundraiser, or volunteers behind the scenes, every contribution helps strengthen the Middle School West community.

Volunteer Team

PTO Volunteers are parents, guardians, family members, and community supporters who want to help Middle School West without committing to regular PTO meetings or ongoing membership responsibilities. Volunteers are an important part of making PTO events, fundraisers, student activities, and staff-support efforts possible.

Opportunities may include helping at school events, assisting with fundraisers, donating supplies, supporting special projects, or lending a hand when extra help is needed. Volunteers can choose opportunities that fit their interests and availability, with no regular meeting attendance required.

Whether you can help once a year or several times throughout the school year, your time and support make a meaningful difference for our students, staff, and school community.

Whether you want to help lead, attend meetings, share ideas, or simply volunteer when you can, there are many ways to be part of the Middle School West PTO. Choose the level of involvement that works best for you.
